Curriculum Vitae

Monika Halkort works as media author, producer and researcher for a wide range of international publishers, broadcasters and academic institutions. Main focus of her work is the cultural and social impact of new media and technologies. Recent projects include a documentary film on the social impact of video games and consulting services on how to improve global knowledge distribution through education and information activities on the internet.
Monika Halkort is a well received seminar hosts at film and new media festivals. Currently she lectures on interactive narrative at the University of the Arts in Berlin (HDK) as part of an interdisciplinary seminar on experimental film and media design(Emigholz/Velthoven).
Monika Halkort started her career as documentary filmmaker for TV networks in Austria and Germany, most importantly for ORF, ZDF, ARTE, PREMIERE, 3 SAT, MTV und VOX. In 1997 she enrolled at San Francisco State University's multimedia studies program, studying interactive scriptwriting and media production. Ever since she has been heavily engaged in exploring the potential of new media for non fiction media formats and narratives.
